“This photograph takes my breath away with its simple contrast of elements. The angel wings made up of white handprints is exquisitely beautiful in itself. But the additional elements—the phone lines, rough stone wall, dirty satellite dish, and person—make the art even more lovely. These contrasts give the photograph a sense of poignancy. Most people would want to crop out the unsightly electrical wires and satellite dish. But it is precisely these “dirty” elements that bring out the ethereal beauty of the white handprints.” Photograph by Boryana Katsarova
